Volleyball Recap: Tuesday's Loss Ends Wheeling's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Wheeling unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-match winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Hersey Huskies by a score of 2-1. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Huskies from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Wheeling started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-22, 25-17.

Wheeling's defeat dropped their record down to 23-11. As for Hersey, their win bumped their record up to 21-14.

Wheeling and Hersey should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Wildcats will challenge Elgin at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (174 vs. 598). Meanwhile, Hersey (ranked 88th) will meet Schaumburg (ranked 277th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
