Recap: Maclay Marauders vs. Wakulla War Eagles
There's no place like home for the Maclay Marauders, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They strolled past Wakulla with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 33-19. That's another feather in the cap for Maclay, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Maclay's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lauren Guyer, who scored 13 points. Aleeza Moore was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Despite the loss, Wakulla saw an underclassman step up: Victoria Proulx scored nine points along with three steals and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Proulx posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Xzaveria Robinson, who scored six points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Maclay pushed their record up to 10-5 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for Wakulla, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maclay will take on Sneads at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wakulla, they will be playing at home against St. John Paul II at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (St. John Paul II is ranked 585th, while Wakulla is ranked 573rd).
