Recap: Clayton Clippers vs. Pennsauken Tech
Even though the Clayton Clippers have not done well against Pennsauken Tech recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Clayton was the clear victor by a 96-76 margin over Pennsauken Tech. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Pennsauken Tech's loss came despite strong showings from Omari Spencer and Xavier Melendez. Spencer scored 32 points along with eight rebounds, while Melendez scored 15 points along with three steals. Jahseem Branch was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Clayton's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Pennsauken Tech, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clayton will face off against Pennsville Memorial at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Pennsauken Tech, they will head out on the road to face off against Camden County Vo-Tech at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
