Softball Game Preview: Maple Heights Mustangs vs. Magnificat Blue Streaks

The Maple Heights Mustangs will square off against the Magnificat Blue Streaks at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Maple Heights can't be too happy about their upcoming road contest considering what happened when they opened their season away from home last Thursday. They came up short against Chaney, falling 20-0. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Magnificat's offense. They lost 6-0 to Brunswick on Thursday. The Blue Streaks' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Magnificat saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cami Riordan, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double was Riordan's first of the season.
