Considering the Black Knights' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Towanda's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Athens, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

Athens suffered a grim 34-13 defeat to Towanda in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Wildcats were down 27-6.
