Softball Recap: Monacan Wins Going Away Against J.R. Tucker

After losing to J.R. Tucker the last time they met, Monacan decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Chiefs blew past the Tigers 12-2 on Monday. Considering the Chiefs' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

The team relied heavily on Katelyn Marshall, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Addison Gee, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Monacan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Monacan's victory bumped their record up to 4-12. As for J.R. Tucker, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-10.

Coming up, Monacan will face off against L.C. Bird at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for J.R. Tucker, they will square off against John Marshall at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
