Basketball Recap: Calvert Comes Up Short

After flying high against St. Joseph Central Catholic on Friday, Calvert came back down to earth. The Senecas fell 54-46 to the Old Fort Stockaders on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Senecas in their meetings with the Stockaders: they've now lost seven in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Calvert lost, don't look at Vincenzo Lyons. Despite the final result, he went 9-for-12 on his way to 19 points and five rebounds. Max Herbert was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

Calvert's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Old Fort, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Calvert is set to take on their familiar foe Northwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Old Fort will challenge rival Danbury at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
