Basketball Game Preview: Solon Comets vs. Perry Panthers

The Solon Comets will face off against the Perry Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Solon is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Riverside with a sharp 95-69 win. The Comets' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Perry beat Steele 69-60 on Tuesday.

Solon better keep an eye on Luke Wolf. He was instrumental in Perry's win, going 6-for-10 to rack up 21 points and eight rebounds. What's more, Wolf also posted a 60% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Michael Haley was another key player, putting up 11 points and five assists.

Solon is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.4 points over those games. Perry's victory bumped their record up to 10-13.
