Recap: Nacogdoches Dragons vs. Texas Tigers
The Nacogdoches Dragons lost against the Texas Tigers back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Nacogdoches was outmatched by Texas on the road and fell 51-14. Nacogdoches has struggled against Texas recently, as their match on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Nacogdoches still got an impressive performance from James Williams, who rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown.
Leading Texas to victory were Tradarian Ball and David Potter. Ball rushed for 185 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.3 yards per carry, while Potter threw for 303 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 15.2 yards per attempt. Ball is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Brandon Hall did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 112 receiving yards.
Nacogdoches has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Texas, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Nacogdoches will be playing in front of their home fans against Marshall at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Texas, they will head out on the road to face off against Whitehouse at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Whitehouse is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
