Soccer Game Preview: Summit vs. Giles County

The Summit Spartans will take on the Giles County Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Summit managed to keep up with Independence until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Spartans came up short against the Eagles, falling 5-1. The defeat continues a trend for Summit in their meetings with Independence: they've now lost seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Giles County didn't have quite enough to beat Central Magnet on Tuesday and fell 2-1. While losing is never fun, Giles County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 106th, while Central Magnet are ranked 35th).

Summit's loss dropped their record down to 6-6-1. As for Giles County, they dropped their record down to 7-6-2 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
