Softball Recap: Lincoln County Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Lincoln County entered their tilt with Laughlin on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Cougars. The result was nothing new for the Lynx, who have now won 11 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Remington Lytle was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Kaley Bart was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Bentley Barnes, who earned three runs.

Lincoln County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.

Lincoln County's record is now 14-8. As for Laughlin, they moved to 12-9 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lincoln County beat the Cougars by a score of 13-0 later that day.
