Softball Recap: Choctawhatchee Comes Up Short

Choctawhatchee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 17-3 to the Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets.

Gabbi Barnowsky was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Choctawhatchee's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Mt. Vernon, the win keeps they at an undefeated 4-0.

Coming up, Choctawhatchee will be playing in front of their home fans against Niceville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Niceville's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so Choctawhatchee's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Mt. Vernon, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 10-2 victory against Fort Walton Beach on the 28th.
