It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Valley Regional ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They pulled ahead with a 65-64 photo finish over the North Branford Thunderbirds. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 72-59 back in December of 2024.

Thomas Troy had a dynamite game for Valley Regional, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards. What's more, Troy also racked up four assists, the most he's had since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Rex Grabowski, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds.

Valley Regional pushed their record up to 6-11 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points over those games. As for North Branford, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-7.

Coming up, Valley Regional will look to defend their home court on Friday against Cromwell at 7:00 p.m. As for North Branford, they will host East Hampton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. East Hampton will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something North Branford surely won't give up without a fight.
