Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Lenoir). They blew past the Kinston Vikings 19-3 on Monday. The victory was familiar territory for the Hawks, who have now won six contests in a row.
Hallie Fowler made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up three earned runs off only one hit. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, North Lenoir got a massive performance out of Kailey Bridwell, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles Bridwell has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Norah Wine, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
North Lenoir was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .615. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .345 or higher in six consecutive games.
North Lenoir's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games.
