Baseball Recap: Scotts Valley's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Scotts Valley can bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the San Lorenzo Valley Cougars as they made off with a 10-2 win. The Falcons not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 24th (when they won 22-10).

Rex Thompson was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Jared Obert also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Scotts Valley's victory bumped their record up to 6-13. As for San Lorenzo Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 14 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season.

San Lorenzo Valley will welcome Watsonville at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcatz have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.21 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of. Scotts Valley will be paying especially close attention to San Lorenzo Valley's contest: after San Lorenzo Valley faces off against Watsonville, they'll take on Scotts Valley again at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
