Soccer Recap: Valdosta Takes a Loss

Valdosta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They came up short against the Lowndes Vikings, falling 10-0. While losing is never fun, Valdosta can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 367th, while Lowndes are ranked 76th).

Princess Brown, who's played more minutes than anyone else on the Valdosta squad sat out for Tuesday's contest. With Brown sitting this one out, Zikyriah Williams got some extra time on the pitch (80 vs. her season average of 55).

Valdosta's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Lowndes, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-4.

Coming up, Valdosta will head out to take on Ware County at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lowndes, they wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next game, a 5-3 defeat against Richmond Hill on the 27th.
