Baseball Recap: Lake City Timberwolves vs. Highland Rams

Lake City and Highland squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Lake City had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Rams by a score of 7-6. The Timberwolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Kyle Johnson and Avrey Cherry did some serious damage despite the final result: Johnson got on base in five of his six plate appearances with one run, while Cherry went 2-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Mangini, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run.

Lake City's loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Highland, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season.
