Baseball Game Preview: Golden Gate Titans vs. Evangelical Christian Sentinels

Golden Gate is on a four-game streak of home losses, and Evangelical Christian a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Golden Gate Titans will be playing at home against the Evangelical Christian Sentinels at 7:00 p.m. Evangelical Christian took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Golden Gate, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Golden Gate turned things around against Immokalee on Thursday. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Indians.

Angel Nunez was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Marlon Cancio was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three RBI.

Nunez wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Golden Gate kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Immokalee only managed six hits.

Meanwhile, Evangelical Christian came up short against First Baptist Academy on Tuesday and fell 6-1.

Evangelical Christian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Harlan Haugen, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base. That stolen base was Haugen's first of the season.

Evangelical Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Golden Gate, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Golden Gate has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Evangelical Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.1 strikeouts.
