Football Game Recap: West Oaks Academy vs. Joshua Christian Academy

West Oaks Academy put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season on Friday. Everything came up roses for them against Joshua Christian Academy as the squad secured a 51-14 win. West Oaks Academy were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.

Senior Denardo Gray, who threw 4 TDs and picked up 55 yards on the ground, was a major factor in West Oaks Academy's success. If you haven't heard Gray's name lately, then you haven't been paying much attention: he has loomed large in their past three games. Senior Demetrius Cox was in the mix, too, providing West Oaks Academy with three touchdowns.

The win got West Oaks Academy back to even at 3-3. Joshua Christian Academy are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-5.

Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Next week West Oaks Academy take on Jordan Christian Prep at 7:00 PM. Jordan Christian Prep also lit up the scoreboard in their last game, so this could be a high-scoring game. Joshua Christian Academy will have some time to rest before their next game, which is against Jordan Christian Prep in three weeks at 7:00 PM. Jordan Christian Prep have averaged 36.5 points over the course of their past three games, so West Oaks Academy might be in for a challenge.
