After flying high against Summit Charter Collegiate Academy last Tuesday, Corcoran came back down to earth. The Panthers fell just short of the Sunnyside Wildcats by a score of 2-1 on Friday. The Panthers' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Aliyah Andrade spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on two hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

Corcoran's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Sunnyside, they pushed their record up to 6-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Corcoran will challenge Granite Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sunnyside, they will square off against Yosemite at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats are facing the Badgers at the right time seeing as the Badgers are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
