Basketball Game Preview: Salmon River Savages vs. Kendrick Tigers

The Salmon River Savages will head out on the road to challenge the Kendrick Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Salmon River has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Last Monday, Salmon River humbled Greenleaf Friends Academy with a 65-25 victory. The Savages have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 26 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Kendrick's strategy against Troy on Tuesday. Kendrick blew past Troy 44-23.

Kendrick's win came from a few key players Salmon River will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Hali Anderson, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. Those nine rebounds gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brehlynn Clemenhagen, who posted eight points.

Salmon River's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 26.2 points. As for Kendrick, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9.

Salmon River took their win against Kendrick when the teams last played back in November of 2024 by a conclusive 67-41. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Anderson, who had 21 points and five boards.
