Recap: Harnett Central Trojans vs. West Carteret Patriots
After only ten points in their last game, The Harnett Central Trojans made sure to put some points up on the board against the West Carteret Patriots on Friday. Harnett Central came out on top against West Carteret by a score of 42-30. The win made it back-to-back wins for Harnett Central.
Ethyn Muhammad went supernova for Harnett Central, rushing for 222 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Aiden Taylor was another key contributor, throwing for 261 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.9 yards per attempt.
Several Patriots players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jasiah Jones, who picked up 150 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Hewitt, who threw for 343 yards and three touchdowns.
Harnett Central is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. As for West Carteret, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 6-5.
Harnett Central will look to defend their home field on Friday against Terry Sanford at 7:00 p.m. Terry Sanford knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Harnett Central likes a good challenge. West Carteret does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
