Forest and Vanguard are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Forest Wildcats are taking a road trip to challenge the Vanguard Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Forest didn't have quite enough to beat Lake Minneola and fell 7-6.

Rilynn Fountain was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Aurora Shifflett, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Even though they lost, Forest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Minneola only posted a batting average of .226.

Meanwhile, Vanguard had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of Santa Fe by a score of 6-4.

Forest might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Vanguard in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Forest avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
