Basketball Game Preview: Hampton Hornets vs. North Oconee Titans

The Hampton Hornets will face off against the North Oconee Titans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Wednesday, Hampton ended up a good deal behind McDonough and lost 59-45. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 194th, while the Warhawks are ranked 42nd).

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Richard Azu, who posted 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of C J Geiger, who had 12 points.

Meanwhile, North Oconee waltzed into their contest on Saturday with 22 straight wins... but they left with 23. They breezed past the Eagles to the tune of 66-38. The Titans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 22 points or more this season.

North Oconee's win was their 29th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 25-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.2 points over those games. As for Hampton, their loss dropped their record down to 14-14.
