Recap: North Platte Panthers vs. Marionville Comets
The North Platte Panthers and the Marionville Comets squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the North Platte Panthers had to settle for second. They were dealt a 29-0 loss at the hands of the Comets. North Platte's loss signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.
Colton Kirkham threw for 55 yards on three of 12 attempts.
Jax Carpenter was his top target, picking up 48 receiving yards.
Marionville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cash Pomeroy led the charge by rushing for 118 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries. Pomeroy was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 67 yards. Another player making a difference was Bryer Guerin, who rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
North Platte's defeat dropped their record down to 12-2. As for Marionville, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 14-0.
North Platte does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Marionville also has no future games currently scheduled.
