Basketball Recap: Middletown Christian Takes a Loss

If Middletown Christian was feeling good fresh off their 60-34 takedown of Dixie last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Middletown Christian Eagles were just a bucket shy of victory on Monday and fell 32-31 to the Fairborn Skyhawks. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Skyhawks 8-4 in the first quarter.

Brooklynn Kimball was the offensive standout of the matchup as she dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 boards. She has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Jones, who posted two points and three steals.

Middletown Christian's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Fairborn, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Middletown Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Emmanuel Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fairborn, they will venture away from home to face off against West Carrollton at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
