Softball Recap: Pineville Has No Trouble Against Berea

Pineville got themselves on the board against Berea on Tuesday, but Berea never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Berea Pirates with a sharp 14-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Mountain Lions in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won three in a row.

Pineville got a massive performance out of Baileigh Bargo-Vaughn, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Rayanna Maidon, who went 2-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and one RBI.

Pineville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

The win got Pineville back to even at 1-1. As for Berea, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pineville will face off against Harlan County at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Berea, they will take on Danville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
