Basketball Game Preview: Cibola Cougars vs. Rio Rancho Rams

The Cibola Cougars will face off against the Rio Rancho Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cibola is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

It was a proper cat-fight when Cibola took on Piedra Vista on Friday. Cibola lost to Piedra Vista on the road by a 61-42 margin.

Meanwhile, Rio Rancho faced Volcano Vista in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Rio Rancho fell just short of Volcano Vista by a score of 58-55. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cibola now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Rio Rancho, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.

Cibola took a serious blow against Rio Rancho when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 67-32. Can Cibola avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
