Soccer Game Preview: Page County vs. Stonewall Jackson

The Page County Panthers will head out to square off against the Stonewall Jackson Generals at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Stonewall Jackson took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Page County, who comes in off a win.

Page County is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Strasburg on Tuesday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded Page County with their most commanding win of the season.

Sam O'Neill and Reed Richards scored all three of Page County's goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Meanwhile, Stonewall Jackson fell victim to Madison County and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mountaineers. Stonewall Jackson haven't had much luck with Madison County recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

The win made it two in a row for Page County and bumps their season record up to 3-1-1. As for Stonewall Jackson, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Page County beat Stonewall Jackson by a goal in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
