Softball Recap: Fort Bend Elkins Has No Trouble Against Fort Bend Dulles

Fort Bend Elkins's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 29-15 margin over the Fort Bend Dulles Vikings. The game was the first time the Knights have beaten the Vikings on their field since April 12, 2022.

Fort Bend Elkins got a massive performance out of Victoria Vargas, who scored five runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all six of her plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases Vargas has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Maci Willis, who scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of her six plate appearances.

Fort Bend Elkins was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive matches.

Fort Bend Elkins' record is now 4-13. As for Fort Bend Dulles, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Fort Bend Elkins will square off against rival Fort Bend Clements at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: the Knights have lost three straight at home , while the Rangers have lost five on the road. Meanwhile, Fort Bend Dulles is set to challenge their familiar foe Fort Bend Travis at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
