Basketball Recap: Antaijha Brown's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Seagoville over Poteet

If Seagoville was riding high fresh off their 50-6 takedown of Samuell last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Seagoville Dragons came up short against the Poteet Pirates on Tuesday, falling 55-32. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 896th, while the Pirates are ranked 207th).

Seagoville's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Antaijha Brown, who posted nine points. Another player making a difference was Kyera Mayden, who had nine points.

Seagoville has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-17 record this season. As for Poteet, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-6.

Seagoville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-47 win against Adams on the 24th. As for Poteet, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 56-40 victory against North Mesquite on the 24th.
