Football Game Preview: Midway Panthers vs. Bryan Vikings

The Midway Panthers will face off against the Bryan Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Midway has three straight victories, Bryan has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Friday, Midway made easy work of Killeen and carried off a 49-26 win. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Bryan lost to Temple at home by a 31-14 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 553rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 131st).

Midway will have to contain Jevalen Wade as he made an impact in Bryan's last game. He rushed for 168 yards and one score. With that strong performance, Wade is now averaging an impressive 112.7 rushing yards per game.

Bryan's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Midway, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.

Everything came up roses for Midway against Bryan in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 64-21 win. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
