Volleyball Recap: Ridgewood [Alwood/Cambridge]'s Losing Streak Snapped at 13 Games

Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] hadn't done well against Knoxville recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Spartans won by a set and slipped past the Blue Bullets 2-1. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Spartans as it put an end to their 13-match losing streak.

Knoxville lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ally Kavanagh, who had 21 digs and one assist. Another player making a difference was Aubree Givan, who had 13 digs and three aces.

Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge]'s victory bumped their record up to 2-22. As for Knoxville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-14-1 record this season.

Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Rockridge on the 11th. As for Knoxville, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Biggsville West Central at 6:00 p.m.
