Football Recap: Fremd Falls Short Against Ranked Barrington

Fremd faced Barrington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The contest between the Vikings and the Fillies/Broncos didn't end well, with the Vikings falling 23-7. The game marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Will Clark threw for 165 yards on 12 of 20 attempts. Ben Riddle was his top target, picking up 117 receiving yards.

Barrington was led to victory by Lamar Osterhues and Luke Tepas. Osterhues rushed for 112 yards and a pair of scores, while Tepas rushed for 43 yards and one TD. Osterhues has been hot recently, having also posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played.

Having lost for the first time this season, Fremd fell to 6-1. As for Barrington, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Coming up, Fremd will face off against Palatine at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Barrington, they will challenge Schaumburg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Fillies/Broncos are facing the Saxons at the right time seeing as the Saxons are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
