Preview: Parker Thundering Herd vs. Pleasant Grove Spartans
After three games on the road, Parker is heading back home. They will take on the Pleasant Grove Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Parker has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 32 points or more this season. They took their game on the road on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 59-27 win over Woodlawn. 59 seems to be a good number for Parker as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Parker can attribute much of their success to Teralyn Hill, who scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals. The game was Hill's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Janiya Mines, who scored 7 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Pleasant Grove was able to grind out a solid victory over Shades Valley on Friday, taking the game 50-42. The win was just what Pleasant Grove needed coming off of a 60-38 loss in their prior match.
Parker has yet to lose a match on the road this season, leaving them with a 5-2 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Pleasant Grove, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Parker beat Pleasant Grove 46-34 in their previous matchup back in February. Will Parker repeat their success, or does Pleasant Grove have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
