Baseball Recap: St. Francis Takes a Loss

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when St. Francis and Big Lake meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. The Saints fell 6-3 to the Hornets. The Saints were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

St. Francis' defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Big Lake, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. St. Francis will venture away from home to face off against North Branch at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Big Lake, they will face off against Rockford at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Hornets 3.2, the Rockets 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
