Preview: Westbury Huskies vs. Bellaire Cardinals

Westbury is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Bellaire is on a six-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Westbury Huskies will be home for the holidays to greet the Bellaire Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Westbury will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 976th, while Bellaire is ranked 203rd).

On Saturday, Westbury might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Lamar an easy 76-51 win.

Meanwhile, Bellaire scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Westside 79-50 at home.

Bellaire can attribute much of their success to Anthony Andrews, who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, and Shelton Henderson, who scored 27 points along with nine rebounds and eight assists. The matchup was Henderson's 15th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Washington, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds.

Westbury's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Bellaire, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Westbury suffered a grim 64-42 defeat to Bellaire when the teams last played back in February. Can Westbury avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
