Basketball Recap: Tishomingo Gets the Win

Tishomingo posted their closest win since November 28, 2023 on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 59-57 victory over the Talihina Golden Tigers.

Despite the defeat, Talihina saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Landen Griffith went 8 for 16 en route to 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Griffith has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Eric Rose, who posted ten points.

The win got Tishomingo back to even at 9-9. As for Talihina, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-7.

Looking ahead, Tishomingo will challenge Allen at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Allen will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Tishomingo surely won't give up without a fight. As for Talihina, they will face off against Hartshorne at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Talihina is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.3 points per game this season.
