Preview: Groesbeck Goats vs. Teague Lions
Groesbeck has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Teague Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Groesbeck has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Groesbeck scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They slipped by Fairfield 57-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Teague posted their biggest win yet this season on Tuesday. They breezed by Buffalo at home to the tune of 56-28. The victory was just what Teague needed coming off of a 72-50 loss in their prior match.
Teague's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jehmel Rice, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. Rice is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Brayden Leija, who scored 14 points.
Groesbeck's win bumped their record up to 3-17. As for Teague, their win bumped their record up to 8-10.
Groesbeck lost to Teague at home by a decisive 49-35 margin in their previous meeting on January 2nd. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Teague's Tylin Randle, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 24 rebounds.
