Basketball Recap: Pearl City Comes Up Short

After flying high against Orangeville last Monday, Pearl City came back down to earth. The Pearl City Wolves took a 46-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dakota Indians on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 335th, while the Indians are ranked 86th).

Pearl City has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Dakota, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Pearl City and Stockton will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Dakota, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Winnebago at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
