Football Recap: Boys Town Takes a Loss

Boys Town's game on Friday was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 14-7 to the Gross Catholic Cougars. The Cowboys gained 127 more yards on the day, but it was the Cougars that made the best use of them.

Shawn Lewis threw for 61 yards and one TD. Nigel Deville was his top target, picking up 42 receiving yards. On the ground, Jayden Cook rushed for 120 yards on only 15 carries.

Robbie Brennan produced another solid effort rushing for 57 yards and one score, while also picking up 47 receiving yards for Gross Catholic. Jp Greenhagen also deserves some recognition as he punched in his first rushing touchdown of the season.

Boys Town's loss dropped their record down to 2-3. As for Gross Catholic, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Looking ahead, Boys Town will venture away from home to square off against Ashland-Greenwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cowboys will need to watch out since the Bluejays have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests. As for Gross Catholic, they will be playing at home against Roncalli Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
