Basketball Recap: Matthew Vigil's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Questa over Des Moines

On Tuesday, the Questa Wildcats were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 54-48 to the Des Moines Demons. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Questa lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Matthew Vigil, who posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Larry Roybal, who scored eight points and 11 boards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Des Moines to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ethan Long, who earned six points along with ten assists and eight rebounds. That's the most points Long has posted since back in January of 2024. Eli Ritchie was another key player, going 5 for 9 en route to 12 points and eight boards.

Questa's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Des Moines, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-6 record.

Questa has already played their next match, a 68-27 victory against Antonito on the 17th. As for Des Moines, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-31 loss against Felt on the 17th.
