Basketball Recap: Allen Piles Up the Points Against Wright City

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Allen walked away with it. They blew past the Wright City Lumberjax, posting a 65-31 victory. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 18 contests by 30 points or more this season.

Allen was led to victory by Addison Prentice and Cherish Woodward. Prentice posted 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Woodward shot 50% from the field to rack up 12 points in addition to eight boards and five steals. Woodward is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last eight games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kryslyn Stephens, who scored nine points and seven boards.

Allen was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wright City only seven assists.

Several Lumberjax players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aniya Pigg, who put up seven points and eight rebounds.

Allen is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.8 points on average over those games. The defeat snapped Wright City's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 16-12 record.

Allen has already played their next game, a 52-34 loss against Caddo on the 4th. Wright City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
