Selma strolled into their game on Wednesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They breezed past Varsity Opponent to the tune of 55-7. The Saints' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Selma found their leader in sophomore McKenzie Carter, who rushed for 57 yards and a pair of scores on only five carries, and also threw for 150 yards and two touchdowns while completing 86.7% of her passes. Rod'Neisha Parker also helped with two TDs in total.
Selma didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Markia Brooks and Parker. Brooks got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Selma's win bumped their record up to 6-0.
Looking ahead, Selma will welcome Brewbaker Tech at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Saints 6.3, the Rams 6.6) so any points scored will be well earned.
