Volleyball Recap: Dexter Comes Up Short

If Dexter was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Bloomfield on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bearcats came up short against the Advance Hornets on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Bearcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-16, 25-19.

Addy Calvert paced Dexter's offense, picking up 15 kills. Calvert got some help from Mali McBride and her 18 assists. McBride was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Brogan Hawkins was the offensive standout of the match as she had 13 digs.

Dexter now has a losing record of 7-8-2. As for Advance, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-9 record this season.

Dexter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Portageville on the 2nd. As for Advance, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Puxico on the 2nd.
