Basketball Recap: Sargent Takes a Loss

Sargent was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 57-26 defeat at the hands of the Plateau Valley Cowboys.

Sargent lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Fernando Venzor, who posted 11 points. That's the most points Venzor has posted since back in January.

Jack Vig was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds for Plateau Valley. Vig is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down 11 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Bevan, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 10 points and eight rebounds.

Sargent's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Plateau Valley, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-1.

Sargent didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 49-25 victory against Mancos on the 14th. As for Plateau Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 53-37 win against Cedaredge on the 14th.
