Basketball Recap: Gibbs Takes a Loss

Gibbs lost against Clinton back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Gibbs Eagles took a 61-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clinton Dragons.

Despite the loss, Gibbs still got an impressive performance from Zack Turner, who went 10 for 22 en route to 28 points and five assists. The contest was Turner's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Dalton Tipton, who posted eight points.

Gibbs' defeat dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Clinton, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-10.

Gibbs will host Union County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Clinton, they will take on Anderson County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Clinton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matches -- so hopefully Anderson County likes a good challenge.
