Volleyball Recap: Alexandria-Monroe Comes Up Short

Alexandria-Monroe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Madison-Grant Argylls. The Tigers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Argylls from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Alexandria-Monroe started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-14.

Libby Kettery paced Alexandria-Monroe's offense, picking up seven kills. Kettery got some help from Adah Hollingsworth and her 27 assists. Finally, Grace Wood kept Alexandria-Monroe's defense grounded, leading the team with eight blocks.

Alexandria-Monroe's loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Madison-Grant, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-16.

Looking ahead, Alexandria-Monroe will host Cowan at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Madison-Grant, they are taking a road trip to square off against Marion at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
