Basketball Recap: Turner Takes a Loss

Turner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the De Soto Wildcats, falling 70-47. The Golden Bears lost against the Wildcats in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 72-24 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why Turner lost, don't look at Tyland Mcgee. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. Mcgee is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least ten every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Mekhi Follick, who posted eight points.

Turner's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for De Soto, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-5.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Lansing the next time they take the court. Turner will head out to face Lansing on Tuesday, while De Soto will head out to face them on Friday.
