Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mineral County). They blew past the Whittell Warriors 74-35 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Serpents have posted since January 27, 2024.

Robert Wilson was his usual excellent self, putting up 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Baldry, who posted seven points and four steals.

Mineral County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 9.8 offensive rebounds per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.3.

Despite the loss, Whittell still got an impressive performance from Rocky Laremore, who went 7 for 13 on his way to 18 points along with eight boards and five steals. The dominant performance gave Laremore a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Michael Lezama-Demazo, who had nine points and five steals.

The victory made it two in a row for Mineral County and bumps their season record up to 9-11. As for Whittell, they dropped their record down to 3-11 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.

Mineral County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 74-35 win against Coleville on the 24th. As for Whittell, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 71-14 loss against Smith Valley on the 24th.
